Inside Dab radios?
Many people are not familiar with DAB-Digital Audio Broadcasting. This type of audio broadcasting was first introduced in 1995 in Europe by the British Broadcasting Corporation. Since there are a large number more of FM and AM radio stations, there is no need to remember DAB stations because there are not that many.
When a person owns a pure dab radio, texts will run across the radio display. This allows the listener to be aware of what they are listening to; most of the time the name of the song and the artist of the song will scroll across the screen.
While some vehicles come with this type of radio installed there are a number of pure digital radio devices that can be purchased; these are ultra convenient because they are easily portable. Most devices even provide the feature of being able to record favorite programs, enabling a listener to listen to them at their own convenience. It also allows a person to re-listen to a recording.
Some people purchase a dab clock radio and carry the clock with them everywhere; while this may seem weird it is an efficient way to use a clock for more than a clock.
DAB radio can even be listened to on TVs and computers; many online websites offer listening content in digital audio broadcast format. Many stations that are in dab format are not available in FM or AM format. A new form of DAB was released in 2007, providing DAB listening content in 64 kilobits per second format; this means the content is in high quality digital listening format.
Over 20 countries have DAB transmissions; however most of the stations transmitting these signals are compressed. Listeners will often find that some stations digital audio broadcasts are clearer than others.
A DAB receiver helps a person to receive additional stations than they normally would be able to. These types of receivers are accompanied with a higher price tag than FM receivers, but the listening content is much better than FM content. There are a number of different handheld devices that are DAB compatible, enabling DAB content to be listened to in almost any area.
DAB compatible devices automatically create a list for the user to view; this list shows any DAB stations that can be accessed. This makes choosing a station very easy, as the user does not have to remember station numbers.
DAB content is crystal clear. There are no cracks or hisses in any of the content. With one touch of a button a station can easily be tuned to. There are many well-known audio companies who supply DAB compatible devices.
