Music Players ? Modernity and Eco Friendly
Music is important to nearly everybody. Listening to music has gone through some radical changes over the last few generations. From the wireless, record players and cassettes – to modern compact discs, iPods and other MP3 players.
And as music and the way we listen to it has changed through the ages, so has the cost, both environmental and physical, of powering such devices has dramatically fallen.
MP3 players use a fraction of the power that the old valve wireless used, and modern iPod docking stations provide crystal clarity and a deep rich sound for hardly any power.
And many iPods, MP3 payers and all sorts of other gadgets can be recharged using solar powered chargers making them even more eco-friendly – requiring no mains power at all.
Radios too, despite their antiquity, are still used by most of us. Whether its a modern digital radio (DAB) or the compact radio that sits on the kitchen window-sill or bathroom ledge, radio is still incredibly popular.
And even the humble tranny has been given an eco-friendly makeover. Wind-up radios, while only a recent innovation, have developed to really sophisticated radios, many featuring MP3 chargers, torches or mobile phone jacks.
The latest innovation in radio is of course DAB. Digital radios are dropping in price, but they are prohibitively expensive to some people – especially for the car where they can be far costlier than conventional car radios and stereos.
There are, however, a few inexpensive DAB systems for cars such as the Pure Highway DAB radio. This can be connect to conventional car stereo equipment and even be used to listen to iPods and MP3 players and makes a cost effective solution to getting modern DAB radio in your car.
