iPod Touch Hints and Tips
Touch screen modality provides the convenience of quickly transversing and locating any desired file. The popularity of the product enables consumers to purchase a cheap ipod shuffle from a variety of venues. ipod owners are constantly discovering ways to optimize the function of the device.
Playlists
Build playlists, rearrange files and delete unwanted items with a mere touch. Access albums, tracks, playlists and podcasts quickly by touching the Playlists and On-The-Go icons. Add single songs with a simple tap. Add groups of tracks or entire albums by tapping Add All Songs on The Albums icon. Finish the process by tapping Done. Accumulate more music or eliminate existing tracks by returning to the On-The-Go icon.
Editing is accomplished easily from the On-The-Go playlist. Pressing the + button adds tracks and touching the red circle removes them. Rearrange files by touching and moving the icon with a finger until it positioned at the desired location. However, the editing option is not available once a playlist is saved in the iTune library. The ipod hard drive is no longer accessible on newer versions, so it is not necessary to eject the device to disconnect it from iTunes.
WiFi Capability
The WiFi capabilities of the ipod enable the device to become a pure dab radio. Free hotspots are available at McDonald’s and other restaurants, but a subscription for continuous service costs less than Î5.00 a month. The Safari browser acts as a bookmark saving single or several last viewed web pages after leaving a hotspot, and import other bookmarks from the computer used to sync with the ipod.
Videos
Import media from a home cinema system or vice versa with the ipod. Download or stream videos with an Apple computer equipped with an EyeTV digital adaptor and the upgraded software. Tutorials at www.techradar.com provide visual explanations for this technique.
Import video files easily, and quickly adjust the size of the image by tapping on the screen during play. Import videos from the Apple website, in-sync devices, the iTunes store or online. Videora iPhone for Windows and iSquint for Mac are conversion programmes to change non-compatible formats into ipod acceptable codes.
Album Art
ITunes advanced menu now features Get Album Artwork for the ipod and iTunes, but does not contain a complete list of artwork for all of the titles. Third party services scan the web to find hard to locate covers. CoverScout services crawls through Google and Amazon to find the images missing in an ipod library. The service requires a Î20 fee, but includes a webcam so images can be photographed and imported to the ipod or iTunes.
